From Our PTO Co-Presidents Thank you to ALL of our volunteers that made last week SO successful and special! We had so many great events and it wouldn’t have been as great without our wonderful volunteers. Leanne Raxter and Casey Drake have made it ‘Snow Much Fun†to read our new books from the book fair. Angie Roberts and Kimberly Cook organized yummy treats for the Principal’s Coffee. Julie Kolevsohn and Leah Marques are getting us ready for Fall Festival with awesome t-shirts. Super job Marissa Brown from Ms. Sampson’s 4th grade class for designing the shirt! Jill Wirka and Erin Wang made sure everyone has their DES spirit wear. Lastly, thank you to Merrie Bouton, Susanna Brewer and Jenny Rolfes for spoiling our teachers with a delicious fall themed snack station. Parents, can you believe it’s almost October? October brings back Boosterthon to DES, which is our BIG fundraiser for the Fall. It’s a eight day program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on October 16. Families will gather pledges for every obstacle your student completes on the Obstacle challenge (30-35 obstacles). We’ll wrap up the fundraiser with a celebration at the Obstacle Challenge on October 25. Students will also experience an amazing character theme, MINDSPARK WILD WEST! Boosterthon’s most exciting theme yet combines S.T.E.A.M skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with character-building. Students will travel back in time with MindSpark kids and win six “Character Duels†to rescue Dr. Spark. Donations will go toward the Chromebooks and technology upgrades and to the entire two-week experience. All families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Obstacle Course on October 25! Thank you for your support!

Ten reading bowl club members will be selected to represent Dunwoody Elementary at the HRRB on January 25, 2020. Club meetings will be on Mondays in the media center from 2:20-3:00pm.
